It makes sense. But not cents. So it ain't happening.
The 4 team AL East v AL West / NL East v NL West / WS setup was probably the best balance between awarding the best overall teams and having an end of year showdown between the best teams we had but, again, that didn't make as much money so it ain't happening.
I think its obvious the new system makes upsets more likely, but on the other hand if you're able to set up your rotation exactly like you want it you should be able to win a series if you're really that much better.
We were what, 14 games better than Philly? I realize the sports are different, but just on a % of the season standpoint thats like a 12-5 vs 10-7 team in the NFL. The 12-5 team will be favored in the playoffs and get home field, but likely won't be a massive favorite in that scenario.
So maybe the new format is just showcasing that while a 10 win lead in a division race is big, the difference between the actual teams skill isn't as large from a practicality standpoint as the lead in the division, is if that makes sense.

Crowing about division titles is a crappy moral victory at this point.

This series is going back to Atlanta and the Braves will prevail.

For some reason I think Strider goes out and shuts up CBP.
We didn’t get to see it last year with the injury but I totally think Spencer is built for these moments.

Y’all threw fricking snowballs at Santa Claus
There's a hell of a lot more to that story but I don't think you really give a shite to hear it out.
The Santa Claus that was paraded out there just passed away a few years ago. The story from the Santa himself is that the original Santa never showed up. The crowd was getting upset because they were promised Santa Claus. They pulled a skinny 18 year old kid out of the stands in a ratty Santa outfit and paraded him around the stadium. That's why they threw snowballs at him.

MLB Teams with the top five season records this year are 1-12 in the playoffs.

Matt Chernoff on 680 a few minutes ago basically called for Snit's firing.
I don't know if he survives this if we do end up getting knocked out.

Braves have pitched well enough to win two out of three. We need some hits. Money Mike is 1-24 in his playoff career.

Yep, pitching hasn't gone much different than was expected. The hitting is beyond terrible.

Snit probably gets one more year and then is asked to retire.

That's what I think, also.

Eh, how'd that work out for the Dodgers and Cubs?

It's so wild how this Arcia story has blown up despite being the most tame "trash talk" ever.

I feel like it would be a better format for the regular season division winner to get games 2, 3, and 5 at home since the first game almost automatically goes to the wild card winner anyways.
Here is what needs to be done. Add 2 more Wild Card Teams in each league. Then make 2 8 team seeded brackets in each league. 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5 Play best 3 of 5. Play this out until there are 2 teams left in each league. Play best 4-7. The winner plays the winner from the other league in the WS. Reduce the regular season by whatever number of games you need to get this done
No more fricking 4 days off after the regular season for the the 2 best division winners in each league. ALL TEAMS PLAY ON TUESDAY FOLLOWING END OF SEASON

Freddie has had the two best WAR seasons of his career so far, and Dansby was 4th in the league among shortstops in Fangraphs WAR this year.
So, its worked out pretty well for them so far

I was told Snitker was this amazing manager by some on here, I won't name names...

Freddie and Mookie went 1-21 vs Diamondbacks

Snit is solid. Not a lot of buttons to push when you have a DH.
The pitching criticisms are fair, but I can also see trying to get three innings out of a starter.
