Does the balcony noticeably move up and down when people dance on it? I saw it do that. But I dunno if it was real.
Yes....I saw that when I was there for an outkast show

The venue double booked that '96 Tool date. Maynard promised to end at 10pm bc I had The Crystal Method and Keoki playing. Tool finally ended around 11pm and we had 3k people outside waiting to get in. Doors didn't open until after midnight. I was such a dumbass that I never even read TCM's rider. They had to play their keyboards on light cases. The night was so messy that it was epic.
What do you think will end up happening to the venue DD?

Thanks for refreshing my memory.
Were you there that night?
He subtly and slowly mixed in a sample of Talking Heads "Once in a Lifetime" (the baseline and background music that almost sounds like water or a gleaming sound lol) in over about 2-3 minutes with two other records beat matched... blown away
He had everyone in that place sweating and bouncing. Won't forget it

The first raves were held at the State Palace in 1995. The crowds numbered in the hundreds but quickly grew to the thousands. The rave parties became nationally known for their bizarre themes and attractions. Some of which included; a dance contest hosted by the late Fred Berry (the character Rerun from the tv show What’s Happening!!), a surprise performance from 2 Live Crew, a puppet show by local act Quintron and a traditional Mardi Gras second line by Rebirth Brass Band. During one party, the group Crash Worship led a thundering drum-processional that included a naked woman soaked in wine. Another time, the promoter turned on the house lights at 3:00 A.M. to a choir singing Amazing Grace. In 1998, tragedy struck as a 17-year-old girl suffered convulsions from drug complications at a State Palace rave. She passed away after lying in a coma for several days. After the girl’s death, federal agents made an unannounced visit to the promoter’s home and questioned him about his involvement with drug dealing at the State Palace.

NOLA can't support another theater so sadly it will most likely get torn down. Im involved in a concept that could probably make the numbers work, but its families during the day and freaks at night so not sure the families part works on Canal Street.
