You're right, it's missing in the media pictures. Street view is from June of this year so it's pretty recent. The south side street view has one posted on the overpass itself.

One of the trucking people in the thread will have to answer, do you have to file a route plan when hauling something like this to check clearances?

Same picture has the pole truck behind the helicopter. Seems like the wrong place to me.

Yes, when applying for a permit you have to provide all your dimensions, based on those dims DOT will issue you a route that you have to stick to. You're allowed to exit for fuel/etc but when dealing with something high you try to find stops that are on the same side the interstate you are, so that you don't have to worry about this sort of thing happening.

What do you think the odds are that the missing sign is in the back of the pole truck, having been cut down right after the accident?
