Used to have a debate similar to this in college.
The premise was you are given 5 billion dollars and dropped somewhere in sub-Saharan Africa with a guide/translator. Could you take over the area and make yourself essentially a warlord of a new country?
The general consensus was 10% chance you would pull it off, 90% chance you’d be killed within a week of trying.
