They never go after their own.

Internal Revenue Service auditors continue to target middle-income earners despite promises by the president and his team to turn agents loose on those earning $400,000 and higher. Its budget swelled $80 billion by Democrats hopeful of exposing fraud by the rich, a new audit shows that agents are still mostly chasing down families and businesses with incomes of $200,000 or less, half the president’s promised target

For example, the audit found that 75% of audits were on returns showing “total positive income” at less than $200,000.

What’s more, the Treasury inspector general report said that the IRS hasn’t even expanded auditor training to help new agents uncover the more sophisticated tricks used by higher-income earners to dodge taxes. Our analysis disclosed no significant increase in the number of high-income individual return audits,” said the inspector general.

The rich can protect themselves better than the average person.

• Top 20% HH income is roughly $140K/yr
• Top 6-7% HH income is $200K/yr
• <7% of US Households earn >$200K/yr
• So numerically, about 70% of the Top 20% fall into the <$200K/yr income group.

And those in the 400 up club can afford an account while the other folks are probably just using tax prep software

Democrats hate the middle class. The very rich and the government dependant are their people.

But according to the IRS, middle-income earners between $75,000 and $90,000 were the most likely (59%) to turn to a tax pro ( LINK). I find that stat incredibly hard to believe, but that's their claim.
My guess is the IRS must categorizing TurboTax as turning to a tax pro.

What percentage of people do you reckon make less than 200k?

Let's look at audits vs. political affiliation...

Just saw CNBC report the IRS is bragging about auditing 1600 millionaires with their $80B funding. So ... $50,000,000.00 per millionaire. Yahoo!!

So don't sell us the lie the 80b would be for going after the wealthiest among us when it was really just going to be used to hit the upper middle class.

Why would the dems go after their donor base before an election?
They will pick their GOP and other enemies to fleece.

The socialists in the Dem party are the ones pushing this.
The socialists in the Dem party don't make more than 400K a year.

Well of course the rich aren't the tax cheats.
They all want to pay more taxes!
Of course, they send in the required amount and not a penny more despite these claims.

My feeling is I don't really care. If anyone is dodging their taxes, that just means I am having to pay more.
I'm not going to have one bit of sympathy for anyone causing my taxes to go up because they are cheating their way out of paying theirs.
