Any concerns about the crowd at the game this Saturday?

My wife is panicking because her coworker, a Southern alum, told her to be careful at the game this week since Jackson State is going to be in town playing Southern at the same time. Apparently the coworker has concerns that there could be fights between Grambling, Southern, and Jackson State fans at LSU.

I know nothing about the rivalry between those schools so is that really something people need to be concerned about or is this person just being overly cautious? I’d imagine there will be lots of police presence on campus anyway.

I cannot imagine living my life in the fear that some of you do. You and your wife will be fine.

I’m not fearful but if that is a legit concern then I won’t be bringing my young child just in case.

If the crowd sucks then it won’t bode well for Colin Simmons’ visit.

No concerns here. I can't give away my tickets. With the loss, the Grambling matchup, the weather (hot and possible raining), I'd imagine campus will be pretty sparse. I'd also imagine the stadium will be 1/2 full - probably 15% in the 4th quarter.

If no one got capped last year at the Southern game I think Grambling will be ok

Jackson State and SU fans will be at Mumford Stadium and not in South BR.

I have been going to LSU games since the 1970s and always park just north of campus in someone's yard. I have never had a problem with car damage or with people. But I would NOT park on the street there.

The smell of weed will be everywhere if anything like the Southern game last year.

You don't think there are fights when Ole Miss, Bama, Florida, etc. come to town? Or are you actually worried for a different reason?

I'm trying to imagine SU and JSU fans saying "wait before we fight let's go handle this on LSU campus." Doesn't make much sense.

True, that doesn’t make much sense to me either. Figured I’d ask all you experts for your opinion.

No. It is not a legit concern. Just like it wasn't a legit concern when a few people on here were questioning their safety around the Southern fan base last year.
