Would Saban or Spurrier have pulled Jd and tried Nuss?

I think so - You are playing to win the game not prove you are right- If was not just the score but evident that the passing game needed another perspective- JD threw an INT- overthrew some passes and made a couple of not good decisions. give the other guy a shota
I say yes
I say yes

In a NY minute. Believe that. I remember when he pulled Hurts for Tua in the NC game.

Saban has no issues doing that and so did Kelly at ND...Even if the score should have been 34-14 at halftime in lieu of 17-14...The D WAS BAD, VERY BAD...Mason is back soon and Denver is playing...period...

Absolutely - Nuss would have been in after the half

No, because they’re smart enough to know JD isn’t the issue.

Saban wouldn’t have.
Spurrier played 2 qbs all the time.

But they aren’t dumb enough to not shake things up

Pull your starting qb after driving the field to kick a fg and go in with the lead…y’all are clowns lol

He’s not THE problem, he’s part of the problem.
He’s a 5th yr guy, 2nd yr in system and is indecisive, won’t take deep shots and not very accurate….all signs that he hasn’t grown since last year. Puts up stats, but doesn’t sustain drives and get across the Goal line.
Teams won’t and don’t respect his passing game. They will continue to play the run and contain him. They’ll give up 1-2 big plays but know he won’t consistently beat them over the top and teams are perfectly fine with that. FSU was daring LSU to go deep.
Denbrock has added 0 to the playbook. His play calling in 1qtr inside the 5 was atrocious. Vanilla play book, no creativity to get players in space.
Kelly has 2 big decisions to make.
1. Does he make the difficult decision to go w/ Nuss and bench JD to open the offense. JD is a great kid/ teammate but he’s limited and it’s hurting the offense. Saban had a similar decision with Hurts a few years ago.
2. Scrap the project of Perkins playing in the middle. That completely eliminated your biggest defensive weapon. With a weak secondary, you need him coming off the edge to apply pressure. Add Mason smith back will give perk more 1 on 1 looks…I’ll take that.
LSU isn’t far from being a scary team. Minor tweaks and personnel changes are needed.

LSU should have had a 34-14 lead at Halftime...It should have been an LSU blowout...What the OC was calling and DC ws doing in second half with Perkins one only wonders WTH are we doing...really..

well there it is!
you just gave us great excuses for his lacking ability to read a D, throw guys open, low YPA and intermediate% and holding ball too long!

That’s what separates champion coaches from Brian Kelly’s. They recognize actual football and understand when they are limited and make adjustments.

Saban pulled Hurts and put in Tungafiloya (Sp?)

Kelly had 3 qbs playing in his last year at ND. Now why would he be so hesitant to play 2 qbs here if he was doing it most years at ND?? Maybe just maybe he knows more about qbs and is starting the best one

They wouldn’t have ever had an ASU reject who can’t throw down the field come in as a transfer.

Spurrier played 2 qbs all the time.
1997 he was running them in and out like RBs or WRs at times with the plays.
Les accidentally implemented that “innovation” in 2010 with Jefferson & Lee. Les’s only way of building up a QB’s Confidence was by making one think they couldn’t suck as bad as the one currently playing before switching. I think they only both played well against Bama that season. Towards the end of 2011 and into Jan 2012 Les forgot how those 2 fed off the other’s poor play or at times the competition, and neither should have been handed the job.
