I'm turning 50 this year. I work out 5 days a week but have recently gone back to lifting heavy. I'll admit, I've been getting tempted to get into my son's creatine and protein powder regime.
One of my major goals is weight loss, though (because I mountain bike and weight matters when you're pedaling your fatass up a hill), and I worry about the extra water weight from creatine. I guess I just need to get more strict on diet to combat that.
FYI: 6'1" and 204.

I'm 43 6'2 now 196#. Lost 10# in the past month with strict diet and dumbbells. I was worried a few weeks ago that starting creatine would make me bloated but it hasn't and I'm still losing fat.

I'm not qualified to give medical advice but I did read dozens of medical doctors' opinions on creatine before I started taking it - none said don't and the majority advised that everyone - male and female - over the age of adolescence should take it daily.

I never experienced any water weight gains - maybe due to walking an hour every day in FL - makes staying just nominally hydrated challenging.
My physical conditioning regimen also improves my mental "attitude" for lack of a better word. Actuarial tables indicate I am either in, or soon will enter, the last decade of life - I want to optimize the remaining time.
