I keep forgetting that he's Jason Clarke. He's just pissed off Jerry West to me.
Took me half of Oppenheimer to realize he was the prosecutor

I like the casting.
John C. Reilly is Jerry Buss. I can't imagine anyone else in the role now, especially Will Ferrell.

Jason Clarke as Jerry West is fricking hilarious.
They let him turn it to 12 and let him go. He’s so intense in every scene and it’s hilarious

Only 7 episodes this season? fricking lame.

I love that because it is on HBO they seemingly changed the name from the original book title. Couldn't call something "Showtime" if it's on HBO
Which is hilarious since Showtime is going to be mothballed sooner than later as they likely use it pile all the Paramount Studios and Paramount+ debt onto it.

Jerry West sitting in the limo listening to the Lakers playing the Celtics is how I am during an Alabama game.

That period fits him. He was good as Ted Kennedy in Chappaquiddick too.

Bump for episode 2. I’m actually liking this season better than the first now that they don’t have to do any of the character bio episodes.

It Had its moments, but not a total success.

Bob McAdoo should join the team the next episode, and they draft James Worthy #1 overall in 1982. I bet they get bio episodes

He was famous for pacing in the Forum walkways during playoff games...occasionally peering in to see the score.
Then hiding.
So many years of defeat to the Celtics as a player in the playoffs, the man had an OCD jinx complex as GM..that his mere presence would make them lose.

What are we thinking, in the remainder of Season 2 do they cover 1981–82 centered around the coaching change drama, and then cram the rest into a final third season?

They’ve already finished 1980-81 in 2 episodes this season. And it didn’t really feel too rushed, to be honest.
It looks the next 5 episodes will cover 81-82, 82-83, and at least part of 83-84

Yea it’s very uneven. The biggest problem is how Magic is written. The character in the show is nothing like Magic Johnson and it’s really jarring.

What is magic Johnson like? Was he a much better teammate?
