Friend,
I hope the bathroom reached your high standards and am sorry we missed each other.
The right lane of I-10 over the East Pearl River bridge will remain closed 24/7 until approximately Friday, July 21. The right lane closure will be immediately followed by a left lane closure that will remain in place until work is complete. MDOT anticipates the project will be complete prior to Friday, August 11, weather depending.
So please do not expect that a week from now things will be back to normal.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

I believe it’s supposed to be complete on the 21st, so you should be good.
Quit being silly.

Took the alternate route today. Normally when I take Texas Flat Rd, I am the only vehicle for miles. It was weird to see a steady stream of cars travel it.

He could just steal Waze at self checkout then.

Follow Highway 607 north for about three miles. You will come to I-59. At night, it comes quickly and is poorly lit. It may look a little like this:
I laughed way too hard for way too long at this and the accompanying photo.

Say baw, just take the picayune route suggested, but stay on Mississippi 26/La 10 through Wiggins, poplarville, then the great metropolis of Bogalusa. Zachary Taylor parkway back to BR.

This bridge always freaked me out when I was in my motorhome.

Somebody posted several days ago about the upcoming construction and to take alternate routes. Sorry bro.
I don't think anyone was counting on a backup of 17 miles.

More must be doing this bc the drive from Picayune to Metairie was more crowded than usual. And of course the idiots who can’t drive, and left lane campers, including a JPSO who drove left lane at 75 entire way through Slidell until he got over to i10 and exited Causeway in Metairie. Drivers were flying by him. Hopefully the bridge is fixed soon and the folks can stay on their typical path. Usually a peaceful drive.

Till August 11 is what I believe I read so I am at least expecting until August 18

I took the route too at about 9 pm. Texas Flat Road does need an overlay though. It was a little bumpy. Since it is really more of a county road. Also the road engineers that let 607 end that way at I-59 should be fired. You have a 4 lane that abruptly ends into a 2 lane right before the interchange. You could have kept the 2nd lane as dedicated lane to Northbound I-59 traffic. I had to do a quick lane change when I noticed the left lane ending right before the bridge over I-59.

If you use Google Maps
You're clearly out of touch. No one uses google maps while on a road trip, they use Waze which identifies traffic backups and suggests alternate routes based on your preferences.

Waze is only good until it takes you down a dirt road in rural Alabama or the Pacific Northwest. I think someone got stuck in the mountains up there one time.

My neighbor said it took 7 hours for her to get home to Nola from Fairhope yesterday.

I'm pretty sure that Waze and Google Maps has the same routing functions now that Waze is owned by Google. You just don't get the user interaction in GoogleMaps.

That is the thing that separates Waze, IMO.

4. After following Texas Flat for about 10-12 miles, you will come across a fork that directs you either north or south on Highway 607. Go north by taking a right. This is a picture of the sign you will see.
128 feet before you get to intersection with 607, there will be an intersection with Ridge Rd. If you're driving in the dark in a pouring rain, in a line of cars behind a uhaul truck, you and 10 other fools could be fooled into following the uhaul onto Ridge Rd. Which is a narrow two lane asphalt road, and which turns to a single lane dirt track 1,000 feet in. When you're pulling a 12' tandem box trailer, it's fun turning around....in the dark....in the pouring rain. or, so i have heard. That person still got home an hour faster than google maps said i would via I10.
