Please free to chime in if anyone has anything else to add.
Ready to talk about something a little different today. So, grab a seat and let's dive into the world of my dear ol' mother's favorite things to do on a date. Buckle up, it's gonna be a wild ride!
Now, Mother, bless her heart, is a true Southern belle with a flair for the finer things in life. When it comes to dating, she's got a few tried-and-true favorites that never fail to make her heart flutter.
First things first, she loves a good old-fashioned dinner date. But not just any dinner will do. Mother's got a taste for the exquisite, so we're talking about a place like Commander's Palace here. With its iconic blue facade and award-winning cuisine, Commander's Palace sets the stage for a truly unforgettable dining experience. The combination of elegant ambiance, exceptional service, and delectable Creole dishes will surely sweep her off her feet.
But let's not stop there, folks. Mother's got a sense of adventure, too. She enjoys exploring new places and trying new experiences. So, one of her go-to date activities is to attend cultural events or exhibitions. The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) is a frequent destination for her. From captivating art collections to thought-provoking exhibitions, NOMA offers a diverse range of artistic expressions. Walking hand-in-hand through the museum's corridors, taking in the beauty and creativity, would surely spark meaningful conversations and forge a deeper connection.
And you know what? Mother's got a soft spot for nature as well. She adores spending time outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of Mother Nature. The lush and enchanting Garden District captures her heart every time. Taking a leisurely stroll along the oak-lined streets, admiring the historic mansions and charming gardens, would make for a perfect date. And if they're up for a bite, stopping by the celebrated Commander's Palace Garden District for some delicious food in a vibrant setting would be a fantastic choice.
Last but not least, Mother is a music lover through and through. So, when it comes to a memorable date, live music is a must. The legendary Preservation Hall is her go-to spot. Its intimate and intimate setting and world-class jazz performances transport you to the heart and soul of New Orleans. The passion, the energy, and the timeless melodies would create an unforgettable evening filled with toe-tapping rhythms and heartfelt connections.
So there you have it, folks—Mother's favorite things to do on a date. From enjoying an exquisite meal at Commander's Palace to immersing in art at NOMA, strolling through the charming Garden District, and savoring live jazz at Preservation Hall, she knows how to create beautiful moments in the heart of New Orleans.
Remember, life's too short not to savor every moment, so go out there, plan an unforgettable date, and make memories that'll last a lifetime.

Large Perm,
Mimicry is the highest form of flattery. Except in your case, where it is done in such poor form as to be an insult. Mother has not dated for much time, and she would never be caught in a tourist trap like Commander’s. Nor would I ever post a “top” list without numeration. An unordered list is chaos that Mother would never allow me to leave as a child when she schooled me in the sitting room. Please stick to your large hairstyles and other tidings.
May God Bless you,
TulaneLSU

I am an older woman too, age 56. An ideal date for me is watching football and eating at the Waffle House. A trip to the shooting range is also good.
