quote:What a load of crap. Muslims torch churches and denounce Christianity (as they have for thousands of years) and you want to join hand and hand.
So how do we stop this slide towards mindless violence? I suggest we start by praying. Christians, Jews, and Muslims coming together to pray to the same God of Abraham. The same God of Abraham their ancestors prayed to.

Then you were either not paying attention or weren't born when my Pope (John Paul II) invited Clerical Leaders from all the Monotheistic Religions (including those from Islam) to a day of prayer in Assisi, France (The home town of St. Francis of Assisi) - and unprecedented event I never thought I would witness in my lifetime.
I recall thinking that was so appropriate coming from a Pope who had witnessed the slaughter of millions of his fellow Polish 'Jewish' citizens at the hands of the Nazis.
Maybe we should both pray to the God of Abraham for enlightenment and forgiveness. Just like me, the Muslim's father in faith is Abraham. He may be a Muslim, but in the eyes of God, he's my brother. If you still don't understand my logic in all this, maybe you should get on your knees tonight and ask God (the God of Abraham) why He went looking for Hagar in the desert when Sarah convinced Abraham to banish her with her baby Ishmael. Had God not intervened, Hagar and Abraham's son (Ishmael) would have died in the desert. Our logic is not God's logic; our ways are not God's ways. God's Mercy, Forgiveness, and Tolerance is unfathomable. Thank God.
God wants evidence of forgiveness and tolerance before he performs a miracle.
I'll pray for you; I hope you do the same for me.
