Companies (many of them) are going woke BECAUSE they’re going broke (losing market share).

These old corporations are trying to tap into gen z and the coastal liberal. They DGAF about flyover conservatives.

Noosecar
Coke
Bud
Etc.

So how's that working out for them.

I heard that analysis early on. Basically they looked at the numbers and said we're dying so let's try a hail Mary pass.

If it works, great. If not, we're dead anyway.

It's not even a 'trans' backlash. It's that Dylan is a man posing as a woman, and 90% of his audience on tiktok isn't of legal drinking age.

Ted Cruz is 100% right to go after AB for marketing to minors.

But this clown Dylan is just cringe, flat out. He's not a known comedian. No one authentically likes this weird Audrey Hepburn cosplay bit, and him mocking March Madness is an instant turn off to your average Joe and Jane sports fan who never even heard of him.

Tyler Perry dressed up as Madea would have been better. At least that character has an established audience even if it still isn't a great fit to sell beer.

Seems like they should change their strategy considering where they find themselves.

Wow. It’s like when the government shut down all the bars it hit AB pretty hard. Who could have possibly predicted that! Further embracing the woke is a completely logical business move

Let ‘em burn.

I think a lot of beer drinkers have switched to craft beer.

A lot of corporations are foong woke due to the ESG scores being used as a club bu the financial institutions.

If you dont get your scores up you lose your lines of credit and go under.

The question would be who and why are these giant banks are so damn eager to push this shite.

Consolidation of power?

They are the driving force.

Environmental
Social
Governance

Pay attention. I knew something was up when that shite was brought up by our CEO at our year end Christmas party this year.

So the whole Dylan Mulvaney thing was an attempt to reach out to leftists who are about the only ones who support this BS? The number one rule of business is do not piss off the customers and that is exactly what happened.

Seems like a bad choice to do it with the best selling beer in America, though. You obviously can't go the Bud Heavy route, but instead of having Peyton Manning slinging Michelob Ultra you could turn that into your unabashedly progressive brand.

Could it be Biden’s economy?

You would think there would have been a big jump during Covid though.

I think the bigger issue in the Bud Light fiasco is what Heinerscheid said about changing their image. Putting Mulvaney on cans was tone deaf, but her comments about the brand historically having a 'fratty' image was the kill shot. She essentially said they want to move away from the group that has historically been their core customers.

As stupid as it was to virtue signal with Mulvaney, shitting on their core customers was even dumber.

We've read that when Inbev took over, they moved all marketing offshore... starting around 2015.

Could have dropped back to this and recovered most sales in a week.

Are we supposed to feel bad for them or something. Most customers don’t want to see politically motivated product placement and don’t care about ESG scores.

Maybe a sidebar benefit will be to get more people TO STOP DRINKING BEER.

The country is fat as shite. There's probably a couple billion pounds of excess fat just from beer. which provides some of the emptiest calories available.

I think organized stock shorters (using ESG and other techniques) are why these companies are going "woke". Lots of money to be siphoned off by hurting good companies.

Mitt Romney was a pro at it. Jim Cramer was pretty good, too.

The Democratic Party plays the long game very well. The push for years has been “not enough fill-in-the-blank in America’s boardrooms.” Now that major corporations have let in the Marxist vermin, the diverse boards of directors are making poor decisions. The diversity that is visible is race, sex, sexual preference, etc. The unseen (and most important) diversity is free-market capitalism vs. communism/socialism. This is the true goal of the DEI movement.

Regarding Budweiser:
In the last decade or so, there has been a major influx in craft beers, every town seems to have their local beers that are much better than piss-water.

I don’t think it has anything to do with generational trends other than there are many new options out there that are better & unique to its areas.

Also, there has been a major trend with people drinking more wine, or at least it seems that way.
