I'll watch because I like the show overall, the first few seasons were so great and White Christmas is undoubtedly elite. But it has really limped along its last few offerings. Last season was entirely unremarkable and had no episodes that I have any desire to rewatch.

I don't know how they're going to out-bleak reality at this point.

Frightened at what current Netflix is going to do to this.

Striking Vipers was a cool concept, but was a bit uncomfortable to watch. But it felt like Black Mirror at least. The other two weren't overly good.

I didn't like Bandersnatch at all, but season four was pretty awesome. Hopefully they get back to that.

Did it say how many episodes we are getting? Because I was pretty disappointed in only three for S5.

the concept of being "inside" a video game was cool especially for people in our age demographic who loved the shite out of Nick Arcade growing up. Pretty much everytign else sucked IMO from the "cheat on your spouse if it makes you feel good" theme to the, well...ya know the obvious other stuff.

AGree I think the other 2 had some potential and held my attention for a bit but ulatimtely fell flat and jsut petered out at the end.

I also didn't care for bandersntach but I did enjoy 4 out of the 6 eps of season 4. Hopefully they can recapture some of the magic.

I thought it was more "develop feelings completely unexpectedly and in a supremely unorthodox manner"

I thought it was good television, and fit in well within the Black Mirror universe.

I'm excited for the new season.

paraphrase from a prior thread in response to a similar question on the topic:

What is the overall outcome here? One dude is virtually cheating on his wife with a man. The wife gets to frick a random stranger (IRL!) once a year to provide some kind, ANY kind of spice to their marriage. And the 3rd party likely waits 364 days out of his year simply to have virtual relations with his best friend, but it's not gay because he's pretending to be female. I mean sure everyone seems to get something they desired but does all that seem healthy or ok? If communication is the end all be all here how about talking to a therapist? "Hey doc, I transport myself into a woman's body to get virtually railed by a buff dude being controlled by my best friend" "Hey doc, I virtually turn into a dude and have virtual sex with a woman that isn't my wife but is being controlled by my best friend" "Hey doc, my marriage is boring and losing passion so I get a hall pass to have an affair once a year on my husband's birthday".

All of that is unorthodox like you mentiond but the overall takeaway seemed to be "hey do what makes you happy even if it's a little out there!" which is a shite lesson.

I'm on episode 3 right now.

I don't love the twist in Joan is terrible.

Loch Henry is a non technology focused thriller short film. Well done, but not black mirror.

Well known actors sort of takes away from the eeriness of the show. Having said that, the Jon Hamm episode is one of the best of the series.

That's the only episode I have watched.

Was pretty interesting. Black Mirror themes but they set in in the 60s, I guess for the astronaut craze and added a Charles Manson wrinkle. Gets pretty dark too.
