Bathroom shower tile fell off, has this happened to anybody?

It was the strip of tile above the shower door. Should I have someone look at it or just cement it back on? What’re the chances of this happening? Everything on google says water damage possible, but it looks dry, no mold or anything on the wall where it fell off.
It was just one of them, I pushed on the other ones pretty good and none others seemed loose

how recently did you have the strip installed?

pics would help for sure. you can find water damage if in the attic to confirm or deny what Google is telling

I learned a lesson on tiling a year or two ago. If the back of the tile gets wet during install, sometimes the thinset doesn't adhere real well to the back of the tile causing a weak adhesion. The back of the tiles needs to be back-buttered before sticking the tile on. If there's no sign of water damage, this is a possibility of what happened and you should be good to just stick it back on.

This is a good point.
Other questions to consider:
Was thin set even used, or was it a mastic?
What size tile ?
What size trowel was used?
Is the substrate a cement board or is it Sheetrock ?
If Sheetrock, was it green moisture resistant Sheetrock?
How solid is the wall the door is on, does it vibrate when closing?
Was there thinset stuck to the back of the tile that fell, or had it skinned over prior to setting?
Was there room for expansion left in the corners, filled in with a flexible caulk, or were the tiles set tight to the wall, or grouted in the corners?
Lot of things to consider here. These are just some of them.
Pictures would help answer some of these questions.

It happened to me, the tile fell and was resting on the top of the door. I didn’t see it, but when I opened the door it scared the shite out of me. Thankfully we had extra tile so I cut a new piece and reapplied it; haven’t had an issue after that.
