Bought my wife one a little over a year ago. Been a great car. No problems no complaints. The hybrid option “only” costs $1,500 more. It’s definitely worth it if you’re in a lot of sit and go traffic.
If you baby it you can get extremely good gas mileage. The drivers around you will be pissed though.

Wife has a 22 Palisade and loves it. I think it’s a very comfortable ride. A lot of bells and whistles for a lot less than some of the others. Fully loaded with the tow and winter package for 50k. Very roomy and 3rd row seems a little bigger than most.

We had a pilot before the Santa Fe. I hated the engine in the pilot. There was no pickup and it didn’t respond well to acceleration. So we didn’t look at Hondas again.
I don’t have these issues with my Santa Fe.

Bought the wife a 2023 Acura MDX in December, she loves it. Looks sporty but also has the 3rd row seating.

The new highlanders only come with turbo 4 cylinders. Toyota built a name on reliability, but I'm warry of these turbos being reliable once 100k+ hits. Anyone know what kind of tests Toyota puts them through?

Of all the ones listed, which one has the best impact rating?

Don’t sleep on used car options.
Get a 1996 Roadmaster, and you can keep a small SUV in the cargo area.

Know someone with a Teluride...very nice vehicle. My wife wants one. Sister, Niece and Son all drive Hyundais/Kias) and my siter's and my niece's both had oil leaks (bad oil leaks) around 60K miles and My sister's timing belt needed replacing (Kia mini van) around 120K and Kia wanted $9k to replace it...it did not break it was throwing a code which indicated it was "slipping". The motor has to be removed to replace the timing belt. At least according to KIA. BIL found an old boy who did it for $1900 so felt good about saving $7100 but short of finding a shade tree mechanic to take it on they'd have a mini van with 120K on it that was worth bupkus of they'd had spent $9K.
My Niece's Hyundai has had to have the oil pan and gasket replaced twice in less than 100K. The first time around 40k and then again around 60K. It is leaking again. This is a mid size sedan, not sure of the model.
My wife had a 2014 KIA Sportage, great little SUV but the alternator went out on it and it like to have whupped me replacing it. I had it disconnected and ready to replace in about 20 minutes....after removing the tire, wheel well, quater panel and all the trim on the passenger side right front and still having no way to remove the thing, I put it back on, replaced all of the body panels etc., bought a service manual and about the fifth step to replace the alternator was "to life engine from compartment". The damn motor had to come out, accoding to Kia, the replace the alternator. I unbolted one side and lifted up one side of the motor with a floor jack and was able to replace the alternator. Hyundai/KIA are supposed to be great cars but removing the engine to replace an alternator seems like a design flaw. I have known 4 Hyundai/Kias and 3 of them have had some expensive problems for anyone not able to do the repairs themselves. My son's Accent has about 60K on it and has not given him a moment's problem but it is only 60K miles....

Pathfinder is a three row SUV. Don't know anything about them other than Nissan says it has a towing capacity of 6500 pounds????? and they are, in my opinion, way over priced. Nissan has had some transmission issues from what I have read.

We just did this. Bought the wife a new Jeep Grand Cherokee and we absolutely love it
Our second choice was going to be the Lincoln Aviator… damn fine car but the wife fell in love with the Jeep. Fully loaded, black with black rims, off the lot at $51K

What trim? I’d say you got a “well equipped” GC for $51k. Fully loaded GC’s are pushing $75k.
