Home Depot in Denham Springs is really good. Lowe’s in Hammond is terrible

That's why I still go to Ace unless I know EXACTLY what I need and HD or Lowes just happens to be closer. At Ace, when you tell the employee what your project is, they'll let you know if you need any other parts or what to watch out for.

Have you ever been to a Hibbet Sports?

Went to a couple looking for baseball cleats for my son recently, made the employees at the DMV look like Rhodes Scholars.

Upon having a failed conversation with a Lowe's employee that left him exasperated my Pops said:

"It is like talking to a fricking chicken."

I don't think the employee even understood that.

this. Every Hibbets I’ve ever been is has felt more like a hip hop fashion than an athletic shoe store

I’m not talking about the part time associate that’s only there to load up mulch for the grandmas. I’m talking about the “professional” sales people in flooring, cabinets, pro services, etc.

Anyone ever been to the Cortana Lowe’s on a weekday morning. At the pro help desk in front of the wood they have a blonde milf that is a smoke

I have one of these by the house. They are 20% more on just about every item. However, I get EXACTLY what I need in a single trip. Someone greets me when I walk in. They ask pointed questions about what I'm trying to do. Then, they offer expert advice on what I need and take me to where it is in the store to pick out.

I only go to Lowe's or Home Depot when I absolutely have to.

Houston has a neighborhood hardware store called Berings...their workers are the GOAT...

Berings is like a mini walmart...

Yeah, I believe at some point they transitioned to "Hibbett's City Gear". Because when I was a kid and teenager you went to them for shoes, but they also sold sports equipment. Baseball gloves, bats, football pads, basketball goals... I went into one to kill some time with my son one day and he wanted to look at shoes. All they had in there was shoes, NBA jerseys, and matching sweat suits.

Definitely not the old Hibbett's.

I've had employees at Home Depot literally run from me rather than help me find something.

In Louisiana we try to put lipstick on the pig and call it OMV, like somehow the thought of an office vs department makes it less red tape and incompetency...it doesn't.

I gave 11 years to Lowes. Was on my way to being a store manager. I used to love the job. The employees and the customers. Enjoyed helping someone with a project. But then there was a shift in Lowes, when they fired 1500 Assistant managers in a restructuring some time ago. It never seemed the same after that. They started finding reasons to fire the well paid very knowledgeable people and hire in cheap labor that had no experience. I took a $8 pay cut to start over and change my career. I remember being so worried about that. Now I thank God every day lol.

But it was very sad going into the store after leaving and seeing the way the store was ran and the over all appearance of the stores. The standards have fallen so badly.

I’m not a contractor. I own rental properties in WNC and recently bought one on Chatuge Lake in Hayesville.
