Struggling so much against left handed pitching

This team is great but man this is their one glaring weakness. But it's so contrary to what's typical. It's not like they are a left handed heavy lineup. Typically right handed hitters hit left handed pitching really well. Why does this team and seemingly every recent LSU team struggle so much with lefties?

Breaking balls specifically. You’d think they were swinging at a knuckleball

I don’t think this is lsu only. Was reading an Arkansas board where they were talking about skenes. The comments were basically they were only scared of him if he was a soft throwing lefty.
I think teams just don’t see it often and it takes a rotation or 2 through the lineup to figure it out. By then they are changing.
Even with the righty lefty matchups. A team is still used to seeing more righties.

Blake Dean told some members of the media that if this team has an Achilles heel it is hitting left handed pitchers especially ones with good off speed stuff.

Yeah well they proved it with their starter. He gave LSU fits. They didn't blow that game open until he was gone. At this point it seems the best approach is to just try and elevate the pitch counts and get them out as quick as they can. They did that today but Aggie has another lefty coming in.

Exactly, that’s why lefties are pitchers, everything is done unnatural to the norm. Ever tried to guard a left hander that can shoot. It takes a minute to get used to. Football, QB sometimes a hazard because most WRs aren’t familiar with the look or spin.

What are the numbers: overall, vs. righties, and vs. lefties? How does that compare to other teams?

Yep - LSU can’t hit LHP, 6R on 6H in the 4th. Guys, it takes a trip or 2 through the lineup to square these rag arms up. It’s why it’s a 9inning game

So you don't think it sticks out like a sore thumb on the scouting report hence why Schlossnagle stacked all these lefties against us today? Yeah they came around that inning and hit well but this has been a problem all year and exactly why he stacked all these lefties. I imagine you'll see other teams that have enough lefties do this as well until LSU proves they can hit either side equally or close to it.
