Compelling side characters that left you wanting more...

Michael Beihn played a few of these that come to mind.
Corporal Hicks from Aliens
Kyle Reese from Terminator
Commander Anderson from The Rock
These were supporting characters you never learned too much about, but you felt there was a lot more to them. I feel like film noir is pretty much built on that sort of thing, but what else have you got?

i've only seen 8 of the 9 movies, played the original KOTOR, and watched Mandalorian (just meaning i'm not a die hard, but not clueless,) but i felt like these were some amazing warriors with a mythos that just got dispatched by Rey without much of a struggle.

I read the comics about them before Disney made everything suck and they were awesome.

I wish there was more seasons of Sgt Doakes in Dexter. Only having him in 2 seasons is sad. They should have him caught up with Dexter in season 5 or 6.
