So it looks like I may be relocating to BR. Can I get some ideas on where to live?
Requirements:
No bars on the windows of houses in neighborhood
safe night night walking...preferably with some restaurants, pubs, etc around
not overrun by college kids
looking to rent...pay $1700 now in Tampa for 950sq ft

There is a complex in Mid City like that, and mid city is probably the only place with those boxes checked... but sometimes it will be overrun with college kids and sometimes it won't be safe and sometimes even if you have the options... they might suck.

Somewhere near the Perkins Road overpass/Southdowns area would fit the bill also. No idea about rents though.

$1700/month gets you a super nice house in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. Why would you even consider paying that much rent and building no equity?
