Just to bump, and say I learned today that Warren Easton baseball is 13-3. No idea who they've played but still interesting.

Not no more… Easton took some forfeits due to paperwork issues

Chalmette wins their 19th district championship today with an 11-3 win over East Jefferson… we’re not in the top 24 of nonselect Division I so we’ll take someone’s spot who is, currently Zachary

Why is it always clerical work that trips up teams in LA?

Some schools are better at it than others

#1 D1 Non Select West Monroe beats #5 D1 Select ASH 10-2 and 11-1

At the time of this post WM was #1. Barbe and WM are super close at 1/2

I was there. Don’t really have any serious connections to either school. Amazing display of talent on both sides, especially on the mound.

I was also at the game. Both teams are really good. Sulphur threw the ball away on a bunt that led to two runs. They also missed a bunt on a squeeze play. It was the difference in the game.

Attendance was crazy. People were doubled up sitting in the aisles. Great atmosphere.

Chalmette defeats Rummel 6-3… their LSU commit Mikey Ryan crushed a long solo home run in the first inning but that was their only run until the seventh. We took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the first and then added four runs of insurance in the sixth.

Bump: season is almost over

I feel bad for Zachary… on the nonselect D1 bubble, and they have to play 29-2 Catholic THREE TIMES

Five teams with winning records may miss the playoffs in our division.

With Catholic now having won that 30th game, those three games may actually help Zachary some.

Zachary would still get 30 power points for a loss, and their current average is 28 and change. So three games of 30 points each should actually give them slight bumps to their power point average.

And if they happen to steal one from CHS, that 50 point shot in the arm probably pushes them far enough upward that they’d be out of the danger zone.

They’d be better off losing all three games to Catholic than, say, beating 8-21 Walker for 28 power points total.

Higher seed is always home field

Nonselect divisions I through V is a 24 team bracket. Top 8 receive byes

Select divisions I through IV is a 20 team bracket. Top 12 receive byes. Select Division V is a 10 team bracket

This is just asinine. More byes than games the first round in Select...

Good Job LHSAA. A team can get a Bye and have to travel in the second round. Losing money the entire time. What a damn joke.

Pretty sure that’s a no. WM upset someone in basketball and had to travel the next game to the team that got the bye.

In a 20 team bracket, you’ll have a few matchups where both teams got a bye, like 5 v 12, 6 v 11, 7 v 10, and 8 v 9
