Will Iowa's offense be one of the best stories of the 2023 CFB season?

Announced a couple of days ago, Iowa must average 25 points/gm, or Brian Ferentz is canned
Iowa's schedule,
Sept. 2, versus Utah State
Sept. 9, at Iowa State
Sept. 16, versus Western Michigan
Sept. 23, at Penn State
Sept. 30, versus Michigan State
Oct. 7, versus Purdue
Oct. 14, at Wisconsin
Oct. 21, versus Minnesota.
Nov. 4, at Northwestern
Nov. 11, versus Rutgers
Nov. 18, versus Illinois
Nov. 24, at Nebraska
You gotta go HAM on Utah State and Western Michigan, right?

In the new contract, Ferentz will make a base salary of $850,000 and will be able to have his contract reinstated to a two-year rolling agreement with a bonus and salary adjustment if the team meets certain requirements. The team needs to score at least 25 points per game and win a minimum of seven games in 2023 for Ferentz to hit his goals.

Better be praying that defense averages 1.5 turnover touchdowns a game

The incentive marks are relatively low, as 25 points per game would have placed Iowa at tied for 85th among 131 FBS teams.
Even with an incentive laden contract, daddy set the bar low for junior.

Pray they go into the Nebraska game averaging just under 25.

Last year, Iowa had 7 pass TDs and 6 defensive TDs. Insane.

Do opposing teams give up late touchdowns to Iowa on purpose to make sure Brian Ferentz keeps his job?

He will get his total offense needed for the year in this game alone.

that's nuts
That was one of the best examples of WOAT offenses and GOAT defense anywhere.

Iowa team total overs for next year. Keep that one in the back of your head.

25 ppg is not even that impressive in this era of CFB.

I don't love Cade McNamara but as a QB i would say he's good for 15 or so TD passes. He was actually pretty competent towards the later half of 2021. He had 10 TD passes in his last 7 games of that season including 3 against PSU and 2 against MSU. So he could maybe even put up 20 TD passes in an entire year.

Especially when it would still rank in the bottom-half of FBS. It's a pathetic incentive - I'd be livid as an Iowa fan. Nepotism running rampant.

It'll be hilarious if Ferentz goes into the Nebraska game needing 50 points to average 25 per game.
And then they have an inexplicable offense explosion that makes the Iowa fanbase even more despondent.

Clear upgrade from their 2022 QB room, but it's still a team without a lick of talent on the outside. Going to be a lot of reliance on Luke Lachey and Erick All, who will be entering next season with very little football played in the last 20 months.
I'd be surprised if Cade is able to muster 20 TDs with Iowa's targets, or lack thereof, but it shouldn't be difficult to top Petras and Padilla.

I want to see them finish the season with 26 yards and watch Ferentz decline the bowl bid

Notice how it’s “the team” and not the offense. So non offensive scores count towards the total

What is his career average ppg and wins per season?
