I rent cars overseas quite a bit. The manual doesn’t bother me, and my wife can drive them too, but she rents automatics, because we are generally driving in an unfamiliar area on the left side of the road and don’t need another complication.

Two things that tripped me up. I would automatically start driving on the wrong side of an empty road when pulling out of a parking lot etc. and have to catch myself. The other was traffic circles on a motorcycle.
