I forgot Texas has those weak little beta live oaks.

That's not true. I lost a big arse limb out of mine during the big snow event a few years ago and I saw two other big arse live oaks that split completely in half down the road. The weight of ice is tremendous on a tree, even a live oak.

I had half of one break and fall on my house in 15 mph winds.

This tree isn't from Louisiana. This is Angel Oak outside of Charleston, SC. Largest/oldest oak in North America or something like.

I’m not a tree expert but that looks suspiciously like a live Oak on John’s Island South Carolina.
