More proof what spoiled entitled cry babies Bama fans are…

in 9 years of the playoffs Bama misses for only the second time and now they are whining about how they should have been in because they were “better” using 20/20 hindsight to justify it to boot. Funny how the Big 12 is garbage but they should get credit for scraping out a 1 point win over Texas who finished 3rd in the Big 12. They should be in over Tennessee who beat them and plays in the same conference as them but they were favored so I guess it’s ok.
Let’s save time in 2023 and just crown Bama, we know they’ll be the “best”

it's sad that they actually believe they deserved in the playoffs for finishing 2nd in the West.
Why do they feel they should have gotten in over the team that won the West and beat them?
If there is an argument that the SEC should have gotten 2 teams in then they should be arguing for the team that finished 2nd.

We were saying this before Bama kicked the shite out of their conference champion and TCU put on the worst championship performance ever. And we were right
For the record, we didn't "deserve" to be in the playoffs. However, the playoff committee isn't supposed to give a rats arse about deserving

I sometimes get the feeling people just want to set the playoffs based on recruiting rankings, the games on the field be damned. This "best" vs. "most deserving" nonsense is really bad for the sport.
People are being way too reactionary from one blowout. I'll agree the seeding ought to have been different and TCU should have been the 4 seed, but the committee got the field correct this year given the data we had before the CFP began.

Nope, what happens during the season has to matter you lost 2 games and did not win your division

It's stupid but good luck talking any sense into them. Even with an expanded playoffs in the NFL we have had blowouts in the super bowl.
LSU didnt even cross the 50 yard line in the championship after beating Bama in the regular season so i guess they didnt deserve to be in that year either.

Exactly, they want the narrative that benefits them. It doesn’t matter how many times Bama gets the benefit of the doubt, 1 time they don’t get in, it’s an outrage. The best team won the title, whining over who “should” have played them is stupid

I just want to know where the logic used to justify losing games but being granted a mulligan on the basis of being the "best" team begins and ends.
Can a team rest their starters for the first half of a season and lose six games, but because they were #1 in recruiting for four straight years and dominate the back half of the schedule, we ought to let them in? Pretty extreme example, but I kind of feel like this is a fair question to ask of those who advocate for a model where team quality matters more than their resume.

The 3 most controversial Bama teams were 2011, 2017, and this past year
Those advocating for Bama were right all 3 times

I don't believe that we deserved to make the playoff, but if you think that LSU fans wouldn't be acting the same way(likely worse) then you are delusional.

I'll advocate the idea that Alabama was a better team than TCU and would have won like 8/10 or 9/10 of the games between the two squads.
I'll also advocate that TCU had a better playoff resume than Alabama did.

Seriously how many losses do they get? If A&M beats them on the last play for example aren’t they still the same team? wouldn’t they be “better” with 3 last second loses instead of 2? So they should be in even at 9-3 if “best” team is all that matters

Then we completely agree. I bet we also agree that the committee should drop the "best 4 teams" charade.

Yep. Bama fans think that because they would be favored against TCU they belong in over them for some reason.
LSU and Clemson would also be favored to beat TCU but aren't saying we should have been in the playoffs over them. We realize that results matter.

Ah the old I can’t argue the original point so let’s change the subject and use what aboutism, brilliant!

That was probably the best football Bama played in a while. They otherwise were not great against their best competition in the regular season.

Like I said from the beginning, it doesn't work well. Which is why they need to stop saying they are looking for best 4 when in reality they are looking for most deserving
