Anyone else not give a single shite about Damar Hamlin?

The outpouring is over the top. People die in this country every single die in much more gruesome circumstances. 99% of the people crying over this man never heard of him until Monday night. Why are people obsessed with being seen giving support to something they have no connection to or stake in.

I get your point but don't confuse your feelings on virtue signaling from media conglomerates like ESPN, to cause you to forget an early 20s kid is on life support

You sound like fun at a party

I don't fault Hamlin. He didn't ask for this, or his family. But if good can come from this (praying, donating, becoming more aware of potential shot clot issues, etc.), then I don't see any bad in this.
If it helps to bring people together, even if only temporarily, I am for it.

Millions of people watched him take a hit that might kill him live

Because by all accounts he was a really good guy who might be dead. Just because people die everyday doesn't mean it's not a sad or unfortunate situation. it's also a very unique circumstance. its not every day when you see someone die on live tv.

It's called compassion. It's not finite. We extend it to as many people as we want. But thanks for your opinion man, and please keep us posted on what we can care about or not care about.

No media is going to let a good tragedy go to waste. That’s how they make money.

I kind of get where you’re going with the media outcry, but how often do you see people almost die while watching along with millions of other people?

You cared enough to start another topic about him

Now I know how Damar feels

His circumstances were upsetting and I did hope to see him pull through, but I truly hate the wannabe arse people who used his circumstances as a way to show everyone that they’re just a *little bit* better than you because they care soooooo much. The theatrics from 99% of the people posting on social media were fake as shite and disgusted me.
I cared about him improving as much as I think someone can genuinely care about someone they’ve never met or heard of, which was not that much. Our world is just so fake now and filled with a bunch of narcissist attention whores who have a platform to be all they can be on social media

Really? Don't give a shite that a human being nearly died?
Edited: to add the word nearly which I missed

I get what you are saying but that isn't Hamlin's fault and most of the people going over the top make their living being over the top in relation to sports in general and football in particular.
I feel bad the dude has to go through this. I wish they would just pull back and let him and his family go through this privately, though.

This. A dude at my church with 2 young kids who has given his life to service had a heart attack and passed out at an HEB this week and is still in the ICU but ESPN DFAF.
But that dude is a 20 year old who had his heart stop beating on a nationally televised broadcast. I don’t have a problem with people praying for him and making much of it but other people lose loved ones every day.
So I get the OP but let’s not lose our humanity.

Your anger seems misplaced, maybe your just not a compassionate person. Some people aren't unless it directly affects them, but you do seem very judgmental of people that do care about this young man.

It wasn't just ESPN. Monday Night, Tigerdroppings turned into the Virtue Signaling Olympics with posters trying to one-up each other with their displays of "concern" and "shock". If you didn't immediately don black garb and paint "Slava Hamlin!" on your face you were literally Hitler.
