The reason you will never see the Church straighten out their embarrassing scandals and deviancy is because they are all in on it at the top, just like any other political organization. Corrupt from the top down.
And I’m not someone from the outside pointing fingers. I am Catholic and always will be. But there is only one way that this changes, and it is to turn to leadership from below. Pressure from the masses is the only way to turn this around, and we have to DEMAND that corrupt leaders face the consequences. Otherwise, we will get more of the same and worse.

What's your point? They are one in the same? You aren't one of those who thinks Jesus would have affirmed the rainbow brigade and their immoral behavior are you?

Nope. He is the last one and is the false pope.

I pray the next Pope hails from Africa. Not because of any concerns over diversity for diversity’s sake but because — unlike the West — the overwhelming majority of Bishops and Cardinals in Africa still promote the moral teachings of the Church.
Based on the percentage of the population, Nigeria regularly produces the largest number of Catholic priests in the world. From my anecdotal experience, these priests invariably embrace orthodox Catholic doctrine.

You do realize the Sanhedrin said the same thing about Jesus, right? Jesus hung around tax collectors and prostitutes. He even saved one prostitute from being stoned to death. He invited a thief (Judas) to be in his inner circle - the twelve. He even he spoke to the Samaritan woman drawing water at the well. That was strictly taboo. Jews did not speak to Samaritans, and Smaritan woman at that.
While I'm uneasy with this Pope's approach to issues and doctrine, I must remember Jesus came to save sinners. And that means rubbing elbows with sinners. Really evil sinners.
I believe in the power of prayer. I have witnessed prayer save hardened sinners at the last moment of their life. Even as satan agitated them as they breathed their last. I'm talking some powerful stuff here. God does not wish that anyone be lost.
Brothers and Sisters, the good that a soul that loves God can do is amazing. We should pray for our religious. Pray for troubled priest, pray for lonely priest, pray for doubting priest.
And remember. Prayer is a personal response to God's presence. If we feel an urge to pray, know that comes from God. God himself cutting through the walls we've built and touching our hearts. Salvation history is full of examples of men and women who repented. My favorite example of conversion - Augustine of Hippo.
Jesus, I trust in you.

I'd say the odds of getting a polar opposite of Francis is slim to none.
The Church is heading for a major schism if we don’t see a course correction.

Pope Benedict XVI says not necessarily.

Wondering if the church could do without a Pope, and in starting to think about that, it’s what occurred to me.
The only Catholic Church with a pope os the Roman Catholic Church. The Greeks, Russians, Armenians, etc. do not have a pope nor follow the Bishop of Rome( the pope). So yes, you can have an apostolic church and not have a pope.

Even Satan could quote scripture. Do better

You seriously misunderstood the Gospel if you think Jesus was affirming their behavior. Everyone is welcome to come to Jesus, but don't expect him to bless your sinful behavior. If you can't understand the difference, I don't know how to help you.

Pressure from the laity is the way. The Catholic Church is compromised of not just the clerical hierarchy but of the devoted practitioners of the received faith.
Yet is it surprising to see so many American Bishops embrace —or at least turn a blind eye to — illegal immigration, homosexual marriage and abortion while they receive millions and millions of dollars from the Federal Government? I make no donations for specific appeals to Catholic Charities for this very reason.
Every faithful Catholic has a right to stipulate that their tithes remain as an earmarked gift for their local parish. I believe that many faithful Catholics are likewise so disgusted with the ongoing moral crisis in the Church that it is having an effect on the bottom line:
Catholic Charities tested by abuse scandals, border crisis: Catholic Charities affiliates report a drop in donations linked at least in part to the scandals….
Giving to Catholic religious orders that promote traditional Catholic doctrine is another option. Of course at some level, I know that any tithe to the Church are intermingled with Catholic Charities since Dioceses levy a small tax on the general collection of every individual parish.
So I would be lying if I said this has not caused a crisis in my own faith and a considerable sickness of my soul to see elements of the Catholic Church so readily prostrate itself before the filthy lucre of a godless government. Yet at some point you have to turn to faith and prayers for answers.

Regardless of what Pope Francis does and say, that must never stand in the way of my response to God's call to - feed the hungry and clothe the naked. And as we all know that is the standard by which we (you and me, the Pope) will be judged.
Fair enough?

Perhaps Benedict can come out of retirement.
He is the oldest living Pope in church history.
Maybe he is still around for a reason.

True, but it also doesn’t mean supporting the goose-stepping communazis at pretty much every opportunity.
