We lost our last dog in 2020 about a week before Covid hit. I’ve been wanting to get another one, specifically I’d like to get a Frenchie. Wife doesn’twant one though due to shedding etc. what are some other dog options you’d recommend for no/low shedding and good indoor dog, not to big either.

The last several dogs we've had were toy poodles. Great dogs, smart, friendly, don't shed.

Any breed that has hair instead of fur.
Poodles and Spanish water dogs are two I know off the top of my head.

Miniature schnauzer. I had a male and he was a really cool dog.

Dachshunds. They’re going to shed but it’s minimal compared to most dogs.

Golden Doodle...smart, doesn't shed,(as long as they have more poodle traits)

The Bichon Frisé doesn't shed but is hyper/very active..A friend has one and can be a little annoying.. Another friend had a French Bulldog.. It died during the hurricane because there was no power and basically the dog died from the heat.. I had a Boxer that would get mean if he got hot.. "Pugs, Boston Terriers, Bulldogs, Shih Tzus and Pekingese amongst others. All of these breeds are known as brachycephalic (break-ee-cef-alec) meaning that they have very short, broad skulls." Can't take the heat...

Standard golden doodle. You'll have to open your checkbook for one but they're great dogs.

Do you ever want to get laid again?

Shih Tzus are cool little dogs. Hair instead of fur so you won’t have to worry about shedding.
eta: Schnauzers are cool too.

French Bulldogs have lots of health issues. Go to the pound and get a sweetie that needs a home.

I like how he mentioned that very big fact, then just rolled along on his pursuit of a new dog.

They all shed, just not all as much as Labradors.
French Bulldogs are cute if you don't mind when they get mad and scream at you like tiny Velocoraptors.
If you want smaller and sweet think about a Havanese or Bichon. Slightly larger then think about a Spaniel (English Springer for example).
If you want a small/medium sized dog that's more outdoorsy and smart then how about a German Pointer?
If you like dogs more than your wife then get an Irish Setter. It's a medium/large dog that sheds some but you and everyone else will love it after she divorces you.
