The concern I would have is that when you have a toxic environment you're not likely to retain the best. The best have more options than the rest.

So basically you get left with people who think they have no other options. Let's face it, even if you agree with what Elon is doing, very few people are going to dedicate their lives to it.

It was probably a lot easier to get people to dedicate their lives towards big human achievements like Space-X. Doing that for Twitter? Nah.

And see that's the exact mentality you need, I loved (still do) those hardcore work sessions, you really get to know with and bond with your coworkers and getting shite done.

Twitter was chock full of leeches and talentless hacks and the gravy train is over. It sounds a lot like the Epic HQ/Wonderland in Wisconsin, except those mfers back their colossal nerdiness up with actual talent and willingness to work.

Well what do you expect, it's fricking san francisco. The sooner Elon moves the HQ the better for him.

I think he knows what he wants to do, but I think the more he digs into things he will learn that what he wants to do and the way he wants to do it isn't going to be as easy as he thought.

Don’t forget when he was talking about getting his engineers to crash develop a solution to get the kids out of the cage in Thailand, and showed up with a shite product that wasn’t used, and started bashing on social media the guy who actually got the kids out by saying he must only be doing it because he’s a pedo.

That point of trying to decide the diminishing returns of studying more vs getting an hour or so of sleep. 20 years later I still often have some version of college nightmare, didn’t study, forgot to drop class, or something else.
