Funny video.
Two types of people at the boat launch - those that help the first time boat owner, and those who sit back, video, and laugh at the first time boat owner.

Go check out the public launch for Tickfaw river on any weekend day during the summer. Recommend strong mind, patients, and/or a pre-iced sixer, bright orange clothing, possible air horn.

That's funny. I fish a bunch and am by myself most of the times and am very proficient at solo launching and trailering.
The first several times, I was nervous that I was going to forget to do something but now I have it down to a science.

My dad had me practice backing up boat trailers in empty parking lots as soon as I had my learners permit. Blessed. I feel bad when I see people struggling who didn't have that. It's a little funny but mostly sad.

I had a good dad but we were too poor to ever have a boat of our own. Now that I’m grown, wife and kids are wanting me to buy a ski boat. I know I’ll be terrible at it my first few times and it’s things like this that make me nervous as hell.

Practice Practice backing up somewhere like an empty lot. As long as you aren't terribly slow backing down you'll be ok.
You will get yelled at if you're prepping your boat in the lane. Get ready in the proper area.
You will get yelled at if you if pull out and put gear away in the lane. Put your gear away in the proper area.
If dock space is small get parked and get fired up and away from the dock and do anything else while in neutral away from the dock.
Teach your people how to walk the boat down as far as possible and tie up and get the motor fired up so they are ready when you show up after parking.
Do all that and you'll be ok.
Don't and someone like me will yell at you.
Good luck.
