"The other guys are terrible" isn't a reason to vote FOR someone.

That's the GOP's problem. They give little to no reason for people to vote FOR them.
Michael Tracey told a story on twitter about an old White woman he spoke to that was very worried about crime and inflation, but didn't know who to vote for because she didn't understand the candidates.
This is probably more common than you think. Leaving aside their phony political positions for a moment, why did the GOP have no on the ground activists to find people like this woman and direct them in who to vote for and assist in getting them to the polls?
Because ultimately, they don't actually care.

Republicans have always been good at fund raising, and that's about it.

Not true in AZ. He is plenty good enough.

Secondly, what do Dems offer ?
High inflation
Falling stock market
Open borders
High crime
Supply chain problems
Shelling billions to Ukraine
Pushing transgenderism
Drag queens in school
Defund police

The reason the GOP does not want to say what they are for is that they know some of the things they are for actually won't go over that well with the voters.
That is why all the Senator's ran from Senator Scott's proposals. Don't you remember? They said it was suicide to be so honest, would be unpopular, etc.

That is great advice for primary elections. THAT is where you examine how GOOD a candidate compared to all the other of YOUR choices. You want to select the one who has the FEWEST bad attributes. Sometime hard to weigh one set of qualities wrt all the others.
THEN - comes the GENERAL election - now you are having to evaluate what the OTHER side offers compared to what YOU had to "settle for."
This is called having a BINARY CHOICE.
You always settle THOSE kind of choices with the primary goal of "do less harm" so you always take the least worse choice.
It's that simple.
