Conspiracy theory time: Alabama drops OM to spite LSU

Alabama has a slow game with Ole Miss and doesn’t fight like hell to keep themselves in a position to win. Why?
To keep the team that pushed them out of the CFP to have a harder road to the SECCG and the CFP.
“But they have an NY6 bowl on the line”
True, but everyone knows the NY6 bowls are consolation prizes for those who don’t make the final 4.
Would Alabama stick one to the team that stopped their playoff chances dead in their tracks?

In reality, of course what I said is bullshite. No way Saban tells his team to go soft on an SEC opponent assuring a third conference loss for the first time since 2010.
But it’s fun to think of weird scenarios.

There is no way this happens on purpose. If Bama loses to OM, it will be because the wheels have truly fallen off in Tuscaloosa and OM is better than we’ll admit they are.
Nick Saban is not going to drop a game on purpose, and piss off the fan base (albeit a stupid one) who already wants him out for losing a 2nd time.
Not gonna happen. A 3rd loss would be considered tanking to the Gumps. No shot.

I get the thought exercise but, the truth is that Saban is grasping for his dominance again. He’s not going to “give one up” to get back at LSU.
