Yes we got the EBT Card today and my wife was fricking unhinged that we received this. $400 per kid with no income restriction is absurd. I do extremely well financially (top 1% of the top 1% in Louisiana) and there is absolutely no excuse whatsoever that we should have been eligible for an EBT card.
A no income restriction is one of the most wasteful things the State of Louisiana could have done in handing these benefits out for nothing other than to try and gain political favor with voters.

This isn't being done by the state of LA, so it isn't that.
Look - I hate welfare queens as much as anyone. I am rarely in support of social safety net programs. I don't support this P-EBT because I doubt it was severely needed by most.
That said - The money, time, and resources that would be required to closely monitor most of these programs would be astronomical and not doable. Plain and simple, you got the card because you send your children to a school that has a high enough percentage of poor kids (or you were in one of the areas deemed a disaster area due to Ida, and the school is on a provisional program for 4 years).
If getting the card offends you as the top 1% of the top 1%, don't send your children to a school with such a high % of poor kids (or, in Ida's deemed disaster areas) P-EBT cards were done at the federal level, and the quickest/easiest/cheapest way to get them out is to give them all free/reduced lunch status families. Yes, that includes high income families whose children are in schools that qualify due to the rest of the student population.

Top 1% of 1% = top .001%.
Not sure what that equates to in Louisiana, but for the US that’s a yearly income of $152,000,000.
You are by definition an OT BALLER!
