What kind of snakes did your cat kill?
We had some absolutely vicious mice killing cats for awhile, and they would eat the occasional ribbon snake.
But they were around when those copperheads were under the carport or in the yard, and they (the cats) didn’t do a damn thing to warn us, and they certainly didn’t seem likely to kill a big copperhead.
In short, I don’t think of cats as very useful when it comes to snakes, unless you are scared of ribbon snakes.
