And if you thought it was due to "climate change", you would be wrong. (Though that probably factors into it too)
Nope, it's a "moral obligation" to undo "decades of racist and classist practices". A Moral Obligation

That state is intentionally being run into the ground. I'm torn about it b/c while I get to laugh at prog lib voting filth, I also know why it's being done and it's not good for America on any level.

These fricking idiots are too stupid for their own good.

The proposal would require medium and heavy-duty trucks entering ports and railyards to be fully electric by 2035, according to the report. CARB believes that such freight vehicles should be banned because the diesel emissions that come from such vehicles disproportionately affect low-income and minority communities due to racist zoning policies. “Decades of racist and classist practices, including red-lining and siting decisions, have concentrated heavy-duty vehicle and freight activities in these communities, with concomitant disproportionate pollution burdens,” the regulators stated. “CARB has legal and moral obligations to lessen these burdens.”
Why wait until 2040. All the woke honkeys can surrender their ill gotten homes and positions of power to a POC right fricking now.

At what point can the commerce clause be used to shut down these ridiculous laws?. This is going to make moving material from the ports much more difficult.

Electric big rigs

So the trucks coming in through ports and rail yards are going to be outlawed. What about the trains and ships that serve those ports and rail yards?

One of the driving factors in this are the numbers of people with asthma here in the Valley. It's "racist and classist" because it primarily impacts poor hispanics that live along the Hwy 99 & I5 corridors. Sometimes the more you know just makes it even more silly.

Dude it literally says it in the first sentence of the article
quote:
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is considering new regulations to ban the sale of all diesel semi-trucks by 2040 to fight climate change and rectify a legacy of racist practices, according to a CARB report released on Aug. 30.

Is anyone other than Tesla even close to getting one of these things in production?

… California deserves its fate

quote:
“Black and Latino populations experiencing significantly greater air pollution impacts than white populations,” CARB added. “Communities in and around ports move much of the nation’s freight, and so experience pollution on a national scale in their neighborhoods.”
What law forces people to live next to a port?
quote:
“Decades of racist and classist practices, including red-lining and siting decisions, have concentrated heavy-duty vehicle and freight activities in these communities, with concomitant disproportionate pollution burdens,”
Ah, the law of economics, which is also racist.

And when those ports shut down and OR/WA get new ports, what will become of those surrounding communties who by the way only got built up because of the ports jobs. Clown world

CA already limits trucking with extremely rigid environmental restrictions on older trucks. This is not good for the rest of the country, as well. Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Oakland are three of the largest ports in the country.

And the new all electric big rigs are going to charged with solar, wind and unicorn farts.

I’m old enough to remember when Democrats cried “don’t push your morals on me”. Now they make 80 evangelicals look tame and timid.
