bullshite, I got audited by the state some 40 years ago over Lykes Lines / Interocean Stevedoring over there policies. It kicked off a La state and Fed audits that are still happening. The money I spent on attorneys over the years would shock a normal person. It started over a nominal 30.00 tax bill
Cool story old man Andy. I was not even alive 40 years ago.
The world and the IRS are quite a bit different now too.

Did some googling and best number I could find is 6700 IRS auditors
That's $2 million per person.
I know those people aren't getting paid that much.

IRS can't even hold onto the currently employees they have. They have a horrible reputation for non-retention in the Federal world.
So yeah, they can try and hire 87K employees, but guaranteed it will still be more of the same.
Plus, if they don't allow teleworking, they are going to get even less applicants

hiring 87,000 more is an absolutely huge increase
That, coupled with the amount of ammunition they are purchasing, is very troublesome.
Maybe now we know who will be doing the door to door searching/confiscating of firearms........

87,000 X $100,000/yr X perpetuity is a lot of fricking money.

Dude, the point is that once they audit you they continue to do over and over. I have had over 20 audits , mostly feds. That’s a average of one every 2 years you dumb shitt. You cannot go into one without a lawyer and they can find something out of place every time on anyone, and that’s with professional CPA firm’s

Good. The level of service since COVID has been utter dog shite. It takes me hours to get ahold of any customer service reps to get information or clear notices for clients.
It’s already been confirmed that there will not be a big customer service rep hire. Most of these hires will be civil enforcement. As well as probably some criminal enforcement.

Flat tax with no exemptions, hence the name flat tax. I would bet you are in the lower end of productive earners. No slight against you at all . It’s just that that group are the biggest abusers of the tax system. They take and don’t add while complaining about the rich productiveness and their lifestyles. Look at a honest tax system and also the savings it produces and a better use of the money taxed

I guess this is one case where the inept govt coupled with horrible policies will help the people

they were referring to existing employees I think, not just auditors. However you'll see a ton more auditors.

Ding Ding Ding, moronic post of the day award! We have a winner early in the day.
Do you really think this is so they can improve their quality control and tax-payer relations?
If you beeline this and this isn’t a troll, I’ve got ocean front property in Arizona is like to sell you.

That's a vague statement. What are you taxing? What is the rate? What type of exemptions will you grant?
Why do we need exemptions at all when we could just have a lower rate?
Maybe not all of us want the government trying to social engineer behavior through the tax code

Income or sales, pick one and only one. The rate is whatever it needs to be to achieve a balanced budget. No exemptions. Very simple.

I’d wager they’ll recruit HBCU’s for the new hires and attach loan forgiveness to it. They just started this program with the NSA. Can’t risk hiring a Republican. LINK

So frick all the poor and elderly low income earners? Why do you want to increase taxes on the poor and elderly?

Quote the presumption to make chief. I do okay for myself and I pay plenty of taxes. I'll be fine and I am likely wealthier than you are.

Did you send back your stimmies and child tax credits? If not, you are an evil "taker" as well, bud.
How do you morons not understand that you need to have an audit and enforcement mechanism to go after the tax cheats that are out there?

This word salad means nothing.

Most of you do not understand how a progressive tax system even works.
What is your proposed rate for your flat tax? 10%? 15%?
Why do you want to increase taxes on the poor and elderly?
That is exactly what your system will do.

Again, noone on this board seems to be able to articulate a clear answer this question: why do you want to raise taxes on the poor and low income elderly?
You are advocating for a much more regressive system in the name of "fairness" but it turns out to be much more punitive on the poor as they end up paying a larger percentage of their income in taxes under your proposed tax regime.

So you're saying Obama's IRS was not overwhelming politicized & used against conservative businesses? Does the name Eric Holder ring a bell for you. He was cited for contempt by the DOJ & just never responded. The IRS corruption only happened under Obama & has never happened before or since? Good Lord. Explain why, if the only issue is Americans not paying their taxes, does this new IRS need all the thousands of new guns & ammunition? To meet with CPA's over a desk?
