So my boy is getting a job with a tech co and the location is downtown SF.

We know nothing about the good areas vs bad areas to live. Anyone got suggestions where he's not walking through homeless camps and shite (literally!) to get to work?

Mattz1122 says that any place is fine because there's no crime, poverty, or problems in SF

I’m assuming either his salary is over $150k and/or you & your family are very wealthy. If the answer to either of these is no then you all need to rethink some things.

I dated a girl who lived in SF.

I traveled there to see her and my father asked me if I was going there to have a gay orgy. I don’t think he was kidding.

If he can swing it…look at Moraga, CA. College town, Saint Mary’s, and much quieter than San Francisco but with life to it. Only 30 minutes away.

Would rather work at a gas station during the night shift than move to that place

He will need roommates unless he wants to live in a closet.

I prefer the area around Ocean Beach, closest to Land’s End park. Ride the bus to work.

You got a budget? Glen Park/ Noe Valley area will probably be the best bang for your buck, though certainly not cheap. There or Mountain View.

Hope he is well compensated.

Embarcadero
Nob/Russian Hill
Cow Hollow

Glen Park if he has a family and doesn't want to commute
