Without even researching, I would assume he made a lot more money playing baseball than he could playing football…and he doesn’t have all the wear and tear on his body.
It definitely would’ve been cool to see him play in the NFL, though.

Doesn’t Johnson receive a pension from the NFL… I wonder how much that number is….

I definitely thought he made a mistake at the time but realized years ago he was better off in MLB.

LSU made his arse quit. Decided football wasn’t the sport for him after that Sugar Bowl beatdown.

If you are equally talented at football and baseball at the HS level, especially pitching, I’d choose football. If you are equally talented at football and baseball post college, baseball starts to get a lot sexier.

That’s an amazing out for an average at best pitcher.
He was a solid middle reliever for the Cubs.

He was really fun to watch as a WR but yah he made right choice

Middle reliever? The Shark was a solid 3/4 pitcher for the Cubs, A's, White Sox, and Giants and was an All-Star one season for the Cubs.

He will NEVER regret the decision he made between the ages of 40 - 85 (or death)

Not really debating. He was a stud WR at Notre Dame and I think he would’ve had a productive NFL career but money wise, yeah, he made the correct decision. No doubt he saved his body from pursuing baseball professionally. At the time Samardzija bypassed the NFL i thought he was crazy. Fast forward to present day and seeing those earnings and seeing Kyler Murray bypass professional baseball $ for football and that’s completely asinine

He and Brady Quinn were exposed by LSU in the 2007 Sugar Bowl. Jamarcus Russell didn't even break a sweat in that 41-14 arse whipping.

Clearly made the right choice. He would have been a marginal NFL wide out at best

He made 100 million dollars with a couple of decent seasons and hasn't been on a roster in 2 years..
I think he did ok
