Looking at the issues(crime, homelessness, schools, etc.)in democratic led cities and the democratic policies in federal government presently destroying our country. It's an indisputable fact, it's not working and we need a change.
What do liberals believe will improve on this current path?
i'll take a stab at it
regarding dem led cities (and cities in general), i don't see them crumbling or being intentionally destroyed. i live downtown in a city of 3+ millon and travel every other week to similar locations nationwide. it would be impossible to deny that there has been a rise in the visible homeless population. i'd imagine some gov't policies have contributed, but i put far more blame with the explosive growth of opiate availability/abuse, lack of mental health services and fallout from covid. not hard to imagine how a young waiter, with maybe a couple grand saved when covid hit and the restaurant closed came on hard times. all of the above will cause an increase in crime and all of these will be easier to witness in a dense urban area compared to rural areas
regarding schools there need to be incentives to get better teachers/leadership. money doesn't grow on trees but i've long said we could provide incentives similar to military service - reduced rate home loans, shop at the px, board the plane first, etc. and yes, this needs to be targeted at the poorest/worst schools. this can also apply to rural areas - plenty of underfunded schools there too
that's enough to start. i'll be off and on today if anyone wants to discuss
