The cops are looking worse and worse every article that’s published.

Thanks, I had not heard that.
Can you imagine the mindset of the parents and students at Uvalde High School? Totally thankful he didn't make it there, and the survivors guilt associated with that feeling.

NYT opinion pieces are worthy of the ridicule they get here. When they merge their opinion pieces with reporting/factual articles and never acknowledge that, they deserve ridicule.
When they are just reporting facts, like the training the school and police received, it truly shows why we should have free, unbiased press.

frick anyone defending these people for “just following orders.” If it were for cocksuckers like you, Eichmann would have gotten off. Hey he was just trying to make the trains run on time, right? I have no patience for that defense.

What’s amazing to me is how some think everyone has to agree 100% of the time. Which is impossible by the way.

Not arguing, because it is fishy…but…how do you get that many cops to tank their job and allow for 21 people (19 kids) to get killed. This isn’t California or NYC, people in Uvalde aren’t so liberal that they would be cool with this situation to push an agenda.

Just need 1 superior to tell them to stand down.

Never ascribe to malice what could much more easily be ascribed to incompetence.
Edit: Look at the waistline of your typical small town cop, as well as their high school GPA, if you think these people are the cream of the crop.

I’m sorry, but Barney Fife and Gomer Pyle would have broken into that room and taken the bullets for kids if need be.

I was going to go with Occam's razor, but this fits better.

You’re missing the point. These schools are currently soft targets and the known presence of armed staff would be enough to make these freaks reconsider.
There was armed staff on the premises, what are you talking about?

Looks like the NYT is quoting a training document on how to respond. Please tell me that you understand that.

Fair enough. I want to believe some cop, any cop, would have gone in solo. I could be wrong though.

Absolutely. The NYT isn’t stupid. They know they can use Uvalde PD to push a narrative about police forces across the country.

He is just asking a question...If they would have breached against orders and kids were killed in the shootout would the cops be held accountable? Im not defending the decision by commanding officer or those guys in the hallway. Just trying to understand what was thier thinking in that moment.

This is true. Its funny how people don't realize they do it, but the credibility of any news source depends on whether or not it supports what they believe.
With that said, to address some of the other comments in this thread. I have said on multiple occasions that it is interesting how certain things happen during presidential election years and midterm election years.
I am not going to blindly believe something without hard evidence. Its more of "if it was revealed that there are some type of political group that put things in place for these events to happen" it wouldn't surprise me.
Whether it's 4chan, 8chan or wherever some of these potential extremist people hang out online, I am sure if someone reaches out to them, it wouldn't be that hard to radicalize them. It would have to be some type of company that claims to be a "social media marketing" company or something like that. As incompetent as the government is, it wouldn't be done within the government.
But I think if George Floyd didn't happen during an election year no one would have heard about it. Same goes for the other shooting of black people by police that happened that year.
Some random person doesn't just post a video online and it automatically goes viral. There are a few things that need to happen for something to go viral and there are ways to make something trending. So it would not surprise me if there is something at play that keeps America divided.

Where’s the part where they wait for an hour while kids get murdered in a bloodbath?
