There are people fighting it.
People are fighting the wokeness with the "Great Commission" or people are fighting the "Great Commission?" Still not sure what the 'Great Commission' is.
I went to the website for the Conservative Baptist Network, and watched the video. Sounds great, but 'Great Commission' was mentioned again in their Purpose.
PURPOSE
The Conservative Baptist Network is a partnership of Southern Baptists where all generations are encouraged, equipped, and empowered to bring positive, biblical solutions that strengthen the SBC in an effort to fulfill the Great Commission and influence culture.

There are quite a few Presbyterian denominations currently. The PCUSA is probably the most well known “liberal” denomination for ordaining women and homosexuals as pastors and getting involved in the “woke” side of social justice issues.
Definitely true overall, but fortunately there are exceptions. We live in a small town in Nevada now and there is only one Presbyterian church in town. It's PCUSA, but the pastor is a staunch conservative who boasts about being a gun owner and a supporter of the 2nd Amendment. He voted for Trump both times (he told me this) and is the chaplain of the local chapter of the Republican Party. I knew the inherent risk of joining a church from the PCUSA, but as long as this guy is the pastor I have no worries. When he leaves, we'll have to see what happens next

You really unsure of what the great commission is?

The largest PCUSA church in America is actually quite conservative. I suspect that's true for TEC, UMC, etc.
Some churches have enough wealth/power they can ignore the national org but can't make a break because of legal ramifications.

yes. I hadn't heard this mentioned before until recently. Does that make me a bad Christian for not knowing?

Not sure if you're serious, but here you go from Matthew 28:
quote:
16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

I don't know of any SBC churches in my area that are allowing women
The first woman to be ordained by a Southern Baptist church was Addie Davis in 1964.
Saddleback Church just ordained three women as pastors last year.
There is a massive fight in the SBC and it's seminaries right now.

I used to be a member of the church until last July-August. I now attend a different SBC church in Bossier.
It's a very long story but to make it short, there are some very mysterious things going on up there regarding money and staff. Huge amounts of turnover with staff and probably 75% of the congregation has left the church due to his style of "leadership". For example, that church had at one point probably 3,000 members. By far the biggest church membership roll in the area. This year's Easter service did not have more than 250 people in attendance. He will not let members look at the books and the church hasn't had an audit in like 8 or so years.
He's a shady character and has been ousted at all previous stops he's been at unceremoniously. There was a call to vote him out and easily over half the church signed papers for him to leave, which myself and the rest of my family signed around September of last year.
Most deacons have left, most leadership positions have left, most of the members that held the most weight have left. It is a dead church now and it's completely due to him.

THE SBC is lost.
Has been for a while.
They are about the most WOKE in the nation now.
I think the fact that they're a sexual assault and molestation factory might be a little bit bigger problem for them than how woke they are

Woke is just hyper bigotry.
Seems like all religions are jumping for that crown.

There are many cancers on the Church in general.
It's why Society is where it is. I first and foremost blame the Churches for failing in their tasks.
Had the Churches and it's leadership stood up long ago, we would not be in the decay we are in.

Thanks. Ok..that I know, but didn't realize there was a name for it I guess. I heard it and made me wonder if it was "woke" related.

Presbyterian church polity is supposed to provide checks and balances to prevent quick apostasy and to deal with congregations or even entire presbyteries that go astray from orthodoxy. It’s tough when an entire denomination goes bad, though.
