Has anyone played it recently? In good shape? How are the greens?

Cane Row
Best course in the area condition wise right now.

I played 2 weeks ago. It’s in good shape. The greens are recovering from poa infestation on a few holes. I think we only had 1 putt on #9 affected though.

Come play at oakbourne and I’ll change your mind on that.

I did a couple weeks ago. Cane Row's fairways are much better.

I feel bad for you Lafayette baws. Your golf blows hard

Oakbourne just needs some rain

About the same, just not as fast.

The rain has helped. Late last week they were coming around. Greens are great like usual. We are voting to redo the sprinkler system/drainage soon. Should it pass and it will we’ll be using the same guy that did CCLA. They aren’t using the watering system at the moment bc there’s a leak(s) in the old system. I think the piping is from the 80s so it’s definitely time.

I am aware. Y'all are also going to be redoing all the tee boxes. I am waiting for this to be done or at least have a plan, and then I will be joining out there.

When membership hits 450 the initiation is going up to 7500 just fyi. That email was sent out last week. It’s at 391 now.

What is it now? $2,500 and $475/month?

I’m a junior exec but I think you’re close with those numbers for full stock member. Monthly may be 500 now.

Just went up to $3500 for new stock members

That’s why course conditioning around Lafayette sucks. It’s a whores market. NONE of the courses are charging nearly what they should be charging to be able to keep the courses mint. BUT, anytime an increase is being discussed, people bitch more about that than they do the conditions. You get what you pay for.

Its honestly crazy the difference between what BRCC and CCL charge than Oakbourne and LT.. (Initiation Fees not monthly dues)

Ehh, yes and no. The fact of the matter is south Louisiana is a terrible climate for golf course maintenance.
It's of course a different market, but you can play a course for $40 in Dallas that's as nice as many country clubs in south Louisiana. For $100 you can play a course that would be considered primo conditions.
And a decent amount of that reason is they're easier to maintain due to the weather differences.
If the maintenance budget needs to be 20% higher, you can't just raise the rate 20% over another market. At some point there's going to be elasticity of demand.
