Porter waits patiently in the truck, A/C on. He gives zero fricks unless you get too close.

I have two small dogs. They are great and I love them. However, I don’t take them to stores with me. They are just fine at home while I run to Home Depot. Not everyone loves dogs and I realize that. I also hate the attention it brings. Weirdo’s coming up and wanting to pet my dogs. Typically some blue haired , tattoo nose ring liberal.

Hey, he used the bathroom of his choice, as promised. Unfortunately it was aisle 9, but freedom isn't free.

Depends on the dog -and its behavior. But I agree about the venue.

Dogs are awesome and you're just completely miserable. Rather be around dogs in stores than people.

Owning a dog is like having a removable living tattoo for some people.

Have they ever heard of the health department? Untrained (not service) dogs with food in the store out in the open… what could go wrong?

Nope. As much as I love dogs, they do not belong in stores. I cannot believe the OP is getting downvotes. Wait, people actually bring dogs in stores. Nevermind.

tOT is now full of people who go to therapy and bring their dogs to stores. Sad!

So this thread is really about your dislike for dogs more than it is people bringing dogs in public. You don't like dogs so you don't want to see them in public.

I hate this trend. Dog was barking in Target last time I was there…not a service dog, not well-behaved, not enchanting all the employees and customers. Same in a pizza place last month. Woman walked in with a Pomeranian on a leash. Granted, she was just picking up takeout (which begs the question—leave it in the car for that four minutes maybe), but the thing yapped at everyone who came near it. Dogs don’t belong in stores or restaurants.

What about the guy who left his dog in his truck on O’Neal when he ran inside to get something. Some POS drughead stole his truck. He ran out and attempted to stop it and got run over by the drughead.
Police found the truck several hours later not far from there, with the windows up, dead dog inside. Got too hot.
The POS didn’t even have the decency to let the dog go or even roll the windows down.

I think his name was Sam.

I take mine to Home Depot and Lowes. But she is a small, 16 lbs. However, I do have SOME damn sense. I always have a couple of towels in the car so I put one in the seating part of the buggy before I put her in. Also hold the leash pretty tight. She sits there.

Saw it all the time in Paris BUT over there people train and control their damn dogs. They behave.

I take her to the liquor store some as well. I've been told to go back and get her if I leave her in the car.

I bring my German Shepherd with me every time I go to Lowes or Home Depot. Also, take him in there if it's raining so he can get some exercise, good for his socializing skills. And he goes into the pet store to pick out his toys. Also been to Cabelas a couple times, thought he was going to eat Santa Claus, costume freaked him out.

Everything else if off limits for me. My wife takes him to Hobby Lobby once in awhile and he usually scares the $hit out of someone.

I don't mind dogs in stores, or on planes even! They are cute and always make me smile.

This is like threads about women getting arrested or sleeping with students

We need to see the female to judge

Same with the dog. Some dude with a friendly old lab at Home Depot - cool. A girl with her happy rat dog in a clothing store - not cool
