Never been to columbia. But it would seem it would make the most sense to "take over" a bar in 5 Points. Seems to be more in the center. of the city. But I am open to anything.

Actually, the Vista is more the center of the city and much closer to the hotels most LSU fans are staying in. Depends on what you like, but the 5 Points bars are smaller and more geared to students. The Vista bars are more sports-bar type and also have more food options.
Flying Saucer is a great choice, although it is not a sports bar. You might also want to try Damon's for big screen TV's and ribs. Other possibilities in the Vista are Wild Wings or the Wild Hare.

I will be at the Cock and Bull off of Rosewood Drive. Its my favorite spot...close to my house and to the stadium.

Its not too bad. Last time I was there they has Purple Haze on tap. It's actually a pretty large place right in the Vista with decent food and plenty of beers to choose from. Mainly you will find the 30 something crowd there. Not too many Frat boys.
