Buzz just got hit with major violations a couple years ago. If we’re going to hire a dirty coach there are better options than Buzz.

Woodward has an opportunity to not only not frick this up but to land someone that can keep the fan base hopeful.
It would take a really special kind of successful/established coach to come into this particular situation. I'm not as against Buzz as some others because I believe SW will kick him to the curb when he thinks the time is right.

After seeing the Aggies play those tournament games against Auburn and Ark., it is hard to imagine Buzz will leave.
Just have to wait and see who will be the next head coach.

it’s not like the AD of a major university who’s held that job at 2 other major universities would have access to contacts that could guide him or anything even if he didn’t know. But what are you basing this on? Buzz Williams I assume. He’s in year 3 at a school with zero basketball history that made the tourney twice in 7 years prior to his arrival. I don't know if Buzz would be good for LSU or not. I don't necessarily want him. But just because his name is being mentioned doesn't mean some of you should be crying so much.

When are you people going to realize that whoever they hire can turn this around in 1 year because of the transfer portal now in place and LSU is not going to get some 3 to 5 year ban it doesn't happen anymore look at the other college programs that the NCAA lied about with all these trumped up Allegations they got 1 year bans and some type of probation.I thought will wade was great however they get the right guy and LSU is right back in it

He’s had the transfer portal at A&M and it hasn’t helped much.

Losing to an LSU team that was in a serious slump TWICE, was not a good look for the Aggies. But, that being said, Aggies were good enough to make the tourney.

Took VA Tech to the Sweet 16.
Specifically at A&M: year one - SEC coach of the Year. Year two - team gets blasted by Covid. Year three - SEC tournament final.
15 years as a Head Coach - 300 career wins. Success at every stop.
I get it, you don’t like Buzz - I’m guessing it has something to do with an old UNO grudge. But, how exactly is he bad?? What would good look like?

As hilarious as it is that he hasn’t beaten us I agree buzz is a good coach and was a damn strong hire for tamu. Multiple s16s and an elite 8 at Marquette. Three ncaa tourney appearances and a 16 at Virginia tech which is historically a shite tier basketball school and had one tournament appearance in the 20 years prior to his arrival.
Surprised he hasn’t done more at tamu but it’s been a weird couple of years to try to get off the ground as a new coach in the area.

He bolted from both Marquette and Va. Tech and neither school made any effort to keep him.
Like I said, he burns bridges, players don’t like him, and hasn’t been able to make the tournament throwing around Aggie money in 3 years.
ETA. My information on Buzz is far more recent than UNO.
If we hire Buzz it will be an expensive mistake. The good news is he doesn’t stay long anywhere.

Well Buzz is an Aggie. He was told to make it happen, which he did. Jimbo wasn’t an Aggie, but the big wigs wanted him at all cost....Woodward simply did what they wanted.
He didn’t have full autonomy at Aggie, part of the reason he came home

Was Marquette supposed to compete financially with Virginia Tech? Was Virginia Tech supposed to compete financially with Texas A&M?
This sounds like when some of our fans claim Skip didn't do enough to keep Saban, even though Wayne Huizenga was essentially sending Miss Terry blank checks on the side to come to Miami.

Even though there was no tournament his first season, and his team lost a month of games due to Covid during his second season. But you knew that already.
This sounds like when some of our fans criticize Wade for only winning one tournament game at LSU.
