These people actually believe this, that’s the scary part.
No matter how much they try to destroy the oil and gas industry there is no magical unicorn dust that can all of the sudden change the countries energy infrastructure.
This foolish and reckless short-sightedness is absolutely part of their feeble plan.
Once gas gets above $4/gallon people absolutely will change habits. Material prices will soar and make once viable construction projects, not viable. The new housing market will grind to a halt.
It wasn’t that long ago that high fuel prices helped kick off a major recession (2008).

If Democrats are not decimated in the mid-terms it could only be from blatant cheating in every race.
