Lynching NO LONGER an Act of Love!

Congress has finally passed the legislation that will make lynching a federal hate crime, carrying a maximum sentence of 30 years.
Decades in the making, the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act is among some 200 bills that have been introduced over the past century that have tried to ban lynching in America.
'After more than 200 failed attempts to outlaw lynching, Congress is finally succeeding in taking a long overdue action by passing the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act,' said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

Now if we could only pass the "Salem Anti-Witch-Hunt" bill
WAIT - wasn't Emmit Til murdered on a roadside?? was he actually lynched??
only reason I ask is that now every homicide involving a black person would be investiged by the FBI as a 'lynching' event??

That sucks. We were planning on doing some lynching this weekend.

So...wait...murder was legal until yesterday?

Let's be honest. The crooks on Capitol Hill are using the race-based pretext of "lynching" as grounds for pushing this across the finish line 3 years later, when we all should know that the true definition is the murder/execution of an individual at the hands of a mob in an act of vigilante justice.
Hey Congress,
Don't do stuff that will make the American people want to drag you into the street and hang you in public, then you don't have to worry about ending up that way.

Seriouisly, this is what they are focused on why blacks rob stores in broad daylight?
Uh, I mean while we have a war in Ukraine with Russians
2 million cross boarder
30 trillion debt
soaring crime
Soaring gas, fuel and fuel costs
soaring housing costs
soaring costs across the board
but lynching is on the table?
I can't hate the democrats more than I do now...not possible

How many lynchings have there been in the last 30 years and what was the sentence against people who got convicted?
IIRC, the NAACP went after W for vetoing a lynching bill in Texas despite the people in question being sentenced to death under the current law.

It won’t be purely racial when that happens. It will be class based, as in people vs politicians.

Still waiting on the real story of Juicy's involvement of staging his hoax just in time for Heels Up's Senate version of the bill to get to a floor vote.
After all, that's what his whole episode was about.
Call me callous, but if you're convicted of staging a fake hate crime, you should face the same penalties as someone convicted of the crime you staged.

I'd be willing to bet that there is a race-based criteria for applying the new Emmit Til Law.
Whites hanging in the streets off the light poles will just be peaceful protest.

Would Pelosi, Schumer, etc count as white for that bill?

Depends of if our contingency in Congress sporting dual citizenship with Israel got strung up. Hypothetically. In Minecraft.

well, it's good that, 67 years after the last lynching, we've finally criminalized it. i mean, think of all the lynching that didn't happen that still wouldn't have happened if it'd had been made illegal in 1956.
and, to think, all this time, there was a loop hole in the murder laws. of all the people that should have wanted to make darn sure they didn't get lynched, it should have been politicians.

Change of plans bruh. We have to do something else now.

If you look at the details, this bill has nothing to do with actual lynching. They just named it that to get attention and make republicans look bad if they don't support it.
From what I've read it has more to do with a group of people conspiring to do bodily harm such as a "lynch mob"
The ironic thing will be when a group of young thugs get together and attack someone in Chicago or New Orleans and they are charged with the Emmet Till Anti-Lynching Law.

Finally. I could hardly drive down the streets of my town from all the corpses swinging from ropes.

They're scared they will be the targets of said lynching, that's why they passed this now.
