Prigozhin: Realizing that Russian blood may be spilled, we stop our columns and go back to the field camps according to the plan.

I mean, if Putin just lets him go back, this has to be staged right?

This is a real-life, real-time soap opera.

Some of the rhetoric has been pretty up there, so everyone just forgives everyone and lets go back to the war in Ukraine?
At the end of the day, this is still a major win for Ukraine. It only damaged Russia.

This is the part that's the most confusing. What plan is he referring to?

Wonder if we will see changes in Russian military leadership? If it wasn't staged, some significant concessions had to be made, you'd think.

What about all the aircraft Russia lost in the last 24 hours...don't worry about it?
Does Wagner remain a force in the war or will they be sidelined? This is confusing.

So Russia is just gonna ignore the fact that Wagner tried to stage a coup and drop all charges?
I'm with speedy that if this is seriously the case it's all staged. But then again why tear up the roads and bridges?
I'm just at a loss as how this makes any sense what so ever

Possibly the plan to flex Wagner's muscle, show leadership the support it could gather from the Russian rank and file, and force some change? Who knows.

Well according to "the plan" they are going back to their field camps, which I would guess are in Ukraine

I guess Prigozhin was planning on raising a rebellion and then expecting Putin to go along with his claims that Putin had been misled.
I guess it worked but if I was Prigozhin I would stay away from windows higher than the first story for the foreseeable future.

Anticlimactic coup attempt is anticlimactic.

Has that ever worked with an authoritarian though? Or at least for very long?

What a wild turn of events lmao
Putin calls him a traitor and then like 3 hours later it's all cool haha
Definitely seems staged but what was accomplished?

?? Prigozhin was offered to give up the idea of going to Moscow, and in response they offered security guarantees to Wagner PMC. They also promised to resolve the issues of Shoigu and Gerasimov, Russian media reports.

The Russian ppl believe anything he say. Putin could have just dismissed Sergei Shoigu or had him fall out of a window and the Russian people would have gone along with him.

this is high school level chick drama.

I don’t know. If they’re turning around to fight Ukraine again and there wasn’t much bloodshed it seems more like a very minor victory.
You could argue an attempted coup has long lasting ramifications on the Russian psyche, but those are just words.
The same as people saying he’s committed treason and there’s no way he can turn back now. They were apparently just words too because he appears to be doing just so.

That would mean Putin folded and the country is now effectively controlled by Prigozhin.
