I saw all the tree limbs at The start of the video and knew this wouldn’t end well……

Any person with common sense could see that shite coming a mile away. Let’s throw a grenade under heavy tree cover, what’s the worst that could happen? How have these people survived this long?

Yeesh I guess what they’re saying about Russian munitions is true. Ukrainians are now having to defend from attack beavers.

This infuriates me. All that equipment just left to the Taliban. Think of how much this would have helped Ukraine.

90% of what was left in Afghanistan was staying in Afghanistan. Cost to much to move and I can tell you the vast majority of equipment left behind was not operational and hadnt been in a number of years.

Kinda talking out of both sides here. So we had the majority of our troops working with equipment that wasn't operational in Afghanistan?

I don't believe that for one minute. Did it cost more to bring home? Of course, but then the flip side of that is it falls into enemy hands. Exactly what happened.

We wernt doing anything in Afghanistan the last two years we were there except sitting on FOBs and training our good friends (sarcasm) the ANA.

I wonder how much of this was from what we had given the ANA vs. left behind by US troops?

Its a land locked country, it makes zero fiscal sense to move equipment twice, especially deadlined equipment.

Hadji is of course showing you pictures of the cool, new shite left behind. What they arent showing you are the vast yards of junk that hasnt run in years.

Only waiting on Turkey now, but that's coming soon.

Sweden is a different story from Finland, though, as Turkey is nowhere near ready to vote yes on them.

No most of that equipment is still operational as that is what we gave the ANA but all they did was drop their guns and run away. We destroyed all equipment that we actually used over there but we still left massive quantities of ammunition and equipment for them to fight the Taliban with which was an idiotic decision from the start because anyone that had interactions with ANA you knew they were going to fight for all of about 1 day after we were gone. Should have just destroyed it all.

I want to know more about that grenade. Was it liberated from the Germans in 1945?

UAE's surplus Mirage fighter jets look set to go to Ukraine

I can't get past the paywall on this article from Intelligence Online, but the report is that France is going to buy back 40 Mirage 2000-9 jets that it had previously sold to the UAE, so that it can now give those to Ukraine.

EDIT: From what I can tell, these Mirage jets were specifically upgraded for the UAE and include the ability to launch Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles. This would appear to be a very good jet for Ukraine, and 40 is enough to make a difference.

I’d like to see both join NATO, but frankly Finland is the only nation of the two that needs to get in. Sweden shares no border with Russia. Russia has zero capacity to empty its prisons in a ground war against Sweden.

Plus - Norway/Finland/Denmark aren’t staying in the sidelines if Russia gets handsy with non-nato Sweden in the future.

If true the Ukrainians should be over the moon. The Mirage, while maybe not being the best 4th gen fighter out there, is still a very capable aircraft that is a do it all type of fighter which is exactly what Ukraine needs. It has good speed and can carry a nice payload for ground attacks. If they get 40 then they can outfit 3 new fighter squadrons which would just about double their fighter strength. I saw somewhere the other day that it was believed Ukraine still had around 42 MiG-29s in service. No idea about any Su-27s. I have been looking hard to see any Ukrainian Su-27s in the sky too because they can be a difference maker. The Mig-29 is a great little agile fighter but it is limited in its range and payload which forces them to operate a little closer to the front. The Su-27 is a superior aircraft in just about all aspects but I’m beginning to think they don’t have anymore that are operational.
