I mean, clearly the Ukrainian people themselves were also skeptical that it would actually happen. They were going about their normal lives up until the bombs starting falling.

I had a gut feeling it would happen. I didn't want it to happen... But I also had some thoughts that there could be some good come of it. Maybe we could get the Rooskies to the 21st century an evil dictator out and push them more towards a democratic country with freedoms like speech.

And when I say we I mean the free world including NATO. Their problem first we can be third string if needed

Russia fined Bellingcat 500K Rubles. Bellingcat responded to the ruling today that they will respond in a week by paying the fine with a coin taped to a postcard

Has anyone given any thought as to what happens if there is a months long siege of Kyiv? Is the West just going to stand around and watch as Ukrainians starve to death?

The Polish Army is formidable and would cause Russian ground forces major problems. Back in 2010, as part of ISAF my unit had worked with a Polish engineer unit in the Paktika province during OEF near the Pak border. That Army would bring it and Putin wouldn’t want any part of it.

I wouldn't be so sure. If Putin is still in charge at the end of the Ukraine war I think he starts to eye the Baltics.

Maybe not right away, but after a few US elections perhaps.

Watch Bald and Bankrupt on YT.. he just got out before the invasion and basically what you said is shown as truth in his videos as he asked the people himself.

Why don't Belarus just rejoin with Russia? They seem to love them, so I don't get why they are still their own country now...

How long do you think Putin is going to live? He will be in his late 70s if he waits for 2 more election cycles. But I would think he would have to get a firm hold of the Ukraine situation before he could muster an invasion to the Baltic states.

All that would take time.
